Overdrive hold notification

Effective, May 20th, Overdrive will change their hold notification email address. The Ottawa Public Library advises you to add donotreply@overdrive.com to your email white list of trusted senders in order to ensure that you continue to maintain delivery of your e-hold notices.

Email Notifications

If you have noticed a disruption in receiving notices, please note that we have recently resolved a number of technical issues with notification emails.
Email notices were previously coming from sirsi@biblio.ottawa.on.ca . They are now being sent from sirsi@opl-bpo.ca which is a registered domain name. Customers may need to edit their white lists accordingly.

Email Notifications- Update

We are currently investigating some technical issues related to sending of email reminders for items coming due.  Please be advised that hold and overdue notifications are functioning as normal.

Until the email reminder issue is resolved, please be advised that you can track the status of your items out at http://ottawa.bibliocommons.com/checkedoutor via TeleCirc at 613-580-2535, Info

Email Notifications

Email notifications are available as a reminder for items coming due, overdue,or available for pickup. Messages are sent from Sirsi@Ottawa.ca in batches and as such can sometimes be blocked by individual email service providers or get sent to junk mail folders. If you are not currently receiving your email notices and have ensured that your account is registered correctly with the Library, please contact your service provider to have our email address added to your “trusted senders” list.

URLs and security certificates

We’ve been getting a number of questions about this lately, so here’s some friendly neighbourhood info on the subject:

Some of the URLs (web addresses) for accessing both the Ottawa Public Library site and the catalogue portion of the site have changed slightly over time. Sometimes people have bookmarked addresses in their favourites that are likely old, and therefore if they attempt to visit the site, they get a “security certificate error”.
