Branch Announcements

The branch is open while it undergoes an expansion. The bookdrop is also available.

Project details:

  • Joint project of the Constance and Buckham's Bay Community Association, City of Ottawa, and OPL.
  • Overall project budget: $1,725,000 (OPL’s contribution: $400,000)
  • Completion date: Fall 2015

Key features will include:

  • Branch expansion to 1,000 sq ft., which will increase the branch size by about 100%
  • Natural light and windows
  • Expansion of self service, including self-checkout stations
  • Installation of RFID (radio frequency identification) technology
  • Improvements to materials processing and movement within the branch
  • Library return box integrated into building
  • More public computers
  • Programming space, shared with the community centre
  • Accessibility improvements
  • More seating
