Poetry Workshop: Melos, Opsis, Lexis

Poets and critics have turned over the way poetry creates meaning from its music or sound (an appeal to the ear), its physical appearance (an appeal to the eye) and from the whole field of meanings in words (an appeal to the mind) ever since Aristotle. In this workshop, we'll talk about things to consider when finding the right mix of the three, and workshop poems starting with questions of how the poem appeals to the eye, the ear, and the mind.
