Maple Sugar Festival activities are happening at the neighbouring sugar shack in Richelieu Park this weekend. Because of this, the Vanier branch will extend its hours:

  • Friday, April 4: open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 5: open regular hours
  • Sunday, April 6: open 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Métis Cultural Dance (Jigging)

Join local artist Jaime Koebel as she leads you in a workshop on Métis Cultural dance. This is a great opportunity for a holistic learning experience about the Métis people and their culture through upbeat and fun demonstrations and teachings.

Métis Beadwork

Jaime's style embraces traditional aspects of Métis beadwork with her own flare of contemporary imagery. The combination of individual beaded plants, flowers and roots are linked together to make a beautiful image and an amazing story. Jaime explains the traditions and meanings of the plants to participants as they create a small beadwork piece. For ages 8 and up.
