Found on the New Books shelf: Crafting with Cat Hair

Crafting with Cat Hair If you happen to collect feline fur, you might be interested in Crafting with Cat Hair, written by Kaori Tsutaya and translated from the Japanese by Amy Hirschman. It includes various projects that you can create with your pet's hair, including knickknack boxes, pincushions, mittens, and more.

Also included are tips on caring for your cat's coat, as well as profiles of the various feline individuals who provided the fur for the crafts featured in this book. One photo includes two cats sniffing and gnawing on finger puppets that have been made out of their hair. "Yum," is written in the speech bubble above one cat's head. "This smells like me!" adds the other.

We cater to all tastes here at the public library.

cool

dear Ruin, ..... "terrible"? the fur is collected via regular and usual grooming practices, one needn't scalp one's feline in order to try out these crafts. In other words, just collect and save the cat hair you remove from your catbrush, and use this. I think this is a great idea, I was saving my (2) cats' fur to send my older sister who makes her own yarn and hats and stuff, hoping to maybe one day get a scarf or something to remember my (crazy cat lady) dear friends by, once they pass on ..... this way I can do it myself! and the comment about the book originating from Japan is just offensive and ignorant. We are lucky we live in a huge ever-changing multi-faceted world, and are not limited to our own close four walls, whether we are able to travel physically or just roam in absentia via borrowed Library materials.

Really?

The ultimate read for a crazy cat lady. The fact that this was originally published in Japan speaks volumes.

BWHAHAHAHAAHAHA

I...don't know how to feel. This is awesome and terrible.
