Kiosk

View Kiosk information

Residents of the Hunt Club/Riverside area now have access to a unique library service -- a kiosk that houses popular materials for users “on-the-go.” Located at the newly expanded Hunt Club/Riverside Community Centre, this vending machine-style lending library service is being provided to meet the needs of busy residents who are interested in one-stop "shopping."

While residents in the Hunt Club/Riverside area do have a weekly bookmobile service, they do not have a physical branch. This pilot kiosk project, the first of its kind in Canada, directly responds to public demand for increased library service.

The kiosk service is available any time the Centre is open, providing longer hours of service than a branch. In addition to the kiosk service, customers will have the option to register for a library card or pick up their holds coming from other branches at the Centre at designated times in the week. If successful, the Library will work with other communities to identify where the kiosk service could best serve Ottawa residents.
