About the Imagine Space

Welcome to the Ottawa Public Library’s Imagine Space!

The Imagine Space is Ottawa’s first maker space - a free, public hub of creation and collaboration that offers technology and tools that allow customers to create, make, share ideas, and learn from each other.

The Imagine Space is located in the Nepean Centrepointe branch, 101 Centrepointe Drive.

The Imagine Space offers:

  • 3D printing and modeling
  • Laser cutting
  • Photo, video and audio editing
  • Green screen and video gear
  • Hand tools and electronics
  • Wall-to-wall whiteboard

A bit of history:

In April 2014, the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) and the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa collaborated to open Ottawa’s first public maker space entitled Imagine Space – an American corner. In January 2016, the Imagine Space reopened after a short closure for improvements. The improved space doubled in size, received a second, more powerful laser cutter, and a new green screen wall for video and photo shoots was installed.
