The Ottawa Public Library is very pleased to collaborate with Library and Archives Canada and the Ottawa International Writers Festival to host a special evening of conversation with Jan Wong, author of Apron Strings, and Jackie Kai Ellis, author of The Measure of My Powers, on Thursday, March 29:

This event is part of the Ottawa Public Library’s award-winning food literacy project, à la carte, which is funded by the Government of Ontario.

During the evening, authors Jan Wong and Jackie Kai Ellis will share a few selections from their books Apron Strings: Navigating Food and Family in France, Italy, and China and The Measure of My Powers: A Memoir of Food, Misery, and Paris. These adventurous and talented writers will also discuss food, family and culture with the evening’s moderator, Hattie Klotz, an Ottawa-based writer and journalist. The audience can participate in a Q&A with Ms. Wong and Ms. Ellis following the readings. Both authors will be available to sign copies of their books at the end of the evening.
