The Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards are celebrating their 35th anniversary this year and will be presenting the awards on July 21 at San Diego Comic-Con. They celebrate comics and graphic novels published in the U.S. over the last year in 32 categories. Some 150 titles are nominated this year by creators from all around the world.
Some Canadian representation in the lot with Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands by Kate Beaton. She's nominated for Best Writer/Artist and for Best Graphic Memoir. Margaret Atwood is nominated for the short story Silent all these years in Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes. Daredevil and Public Domain by Chip Zdarsky are also in the mix.
