7 Instagram Accounts all Book Lovers Should Follow

Don’t know what to read next? Go check out some of the following instagram accounts to see what books teens around the world are currently loving! If any of the titles on these accounts pique your interest, you can put them on hold at the library.

1. @oplteens_adosbpo

First up on the list: the Teen Services at the Ottawa Public Library’s account! If you’re not already following, this account is the perfect way to stay posted on what the teen section is up to, and what Ottawa teens are reading.

2. @ epicreads

This account is a great place to discover the newest YA books, and connect with fellow readers as well as authors.

3. @subwaybookreview

Ever heard of the “Humans of New York” project? This is the same, just for books! This account asks strangers on the subway, the tube, and the metro to recommend whatever

they are reading to us! Each post contains a review and a little background about the selected commuter.

4. @blueeyedbiblio

This account is run by a 20 year old college student named Emily who has a passion for reading. Follow her account for awesome book suggestions from a fellow book lover.

5. @liamkelsall

Liam Kelsall is the ultimate fanboy, who combined his love for photography and books to create not only a successful instagram account, but also Twitter and Tumblr accounts

under the creative username “Perks of being a fanboy”. Liam is always just as excited as you, (maybe more), about the newest books and movie releases.

6. @quirkybooks

Gaia is another fellow book lover who posts stylish photos of her favourite reads. Her bio is also hilarious and totally relatable, “still waiting for that Hogwarts letter. Damn owls”.

7. @thelittlebookshelf

This instagrammer masterfully combines two of my favourite things; fashion & reading! Her pictures are of whatever book she’s currently reading and often feature her enviable shoe collection. Have a passion for fashion? This is the account for you!

Shoes as book ends? GENIUS!

Ottawa Public Library’s Teen Bloggers in Residence are fantastic teen volunteer writers from across the city. They blog about their favourite teen reads and authors, and get writing assignments to cover special teen events happening at the library. Their residency rotates throughout the year. Call-outs for upcoming terms are made through the Teen Blog.
