Activities with the Letter W 

Hi, everyone! Here are some fun low-tech activities for your family to try together at home. Perhaps you can include this list of activities in your morning routine, or in your afternoon routine following nap time. Please note that we are compiling family literacy ideas for each letter of the alphabet -meaning that you'll have 26 days worth of songs, yoga postures, tongue twisters and more to have fun with! Enjoy :) 

 

“W” riddle 

Can you complete the following mysterious W_ _ _ _? 

Let’s talk about the W_ _ _ _ _ _. W_ _ _ it rains,  the sidewalk gets w_ _ and you can have fun jumping in w_ _ _ _  puddlesW_ _ _ the w_ _ _ blows, the Fall leaves dance around. W_ _ _ it snows, the ground becomes all w_ _ _ _  and some of Canada’s W_ _ _ _ _ _ _ hibernatesW_ _ _ _ _ is definitely the coldest Season of the year!

Worm Paper Craft

Try making a WORM from paper circles. 

This worm is an inchworm on the letter I, you can make an ordinary worm wiggling on a W! 

Your worm will be wonderful and maybe wiggly, but he won’t say much.

“White eraser? Right away, sir!” 

Which witch winds white weasel wool well? 

“Woollen vests for wailing wolves are worn in the vast woodlands.” 

“When we went walking, we were watching window washers wash windows with warm washing water.”
