Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

This week my friend and I made a deal, she would read Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick and I would read Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. Anna Dressed in Blood is a very different genre than what I usually read. It wasn’t as horribly gory as I thought it would be (there is a considerable amount of gore though). Anna Dressed in Blood is definitely a good book, except I just found some parts a bit flat.

Anna Dressed in Blood

Anna Dressed in Blood is about a ghost hunter named Theseus Cassio (a.k.a Cas), who moves around a lot in order to fight ghosts. In this story his ghost hunting profession leads him to Thunder Bay, where he intends to kill the ghost of Anna Korlov, who has a reputation for brutally murdering anyone who sets foot in her house (sounds fun right?).  Cas decides to try to kill Anna despite her reputation, and manages to fall in love with her and of course, she also falls in love with him. Then a mysterious thing happens - I can’t tell you what happens though because it would ruin the whole thing :D.

Since I don’t have a favourite character in this book, I’ll tell you my least favourite character, who happens to be Cas’ friend Carmel Jones. I dislike Carmel because I think she just gets in the way of whatever is happening. I also don’t like her because I think she’s a little attitude-y, in other words I think she’s like a stereotypical snobby popular girl, who pretends to be nice to you and then stabs you in the back.

All in all Anna Dressed in Blood was okay, but I probably wouldn’t re-read it. If horror/thriller/romance stories are your thing, then I say go for it! Also, I’m sorry if you are a die-hard Anna Dressed in Blood lover. I hope you have a fabulous week!
Happy Reading!
