An Artist at Manotick with Lots of Heart (of Artichoke, that is)

Patsy's art display at Manotick

The month of January has an independent artist displaying her works exploring a wide spectrum of media.

Patsy Siwanowicz is a graduate of Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Applied Arts (B.A.A.) in Fashion Arts, and she has years of experience of applying her skill in "costume design, draping, pattern making and construction in profession theatre and dance in Canada" to quote her biography.

For the past two years, Patsy has been exploring applications of visual art through the Ottawa School of Art.  The media displayed at Manotick include oil painting, encaustic, watercolour, pastel, silver point drawing, gold leaf and colour pencil to name a few, all using an artichoke heart as her subject.  If children cannot appreciate eating their vegetables, hopefully they can warnm to them through this exhibit!

Her artwork will be shown at the Manotick Branch Library until the end of January.  Drop by for a visit to learn more!
