Arts Oasis des arts 55+ dance workshops!

25/05/2021

Time to refresh and relax with Arts Oasis 55+!

With support from the Crabtree Foundation, Ottawa Public Library and MASC invite older adults across the city to explore different aspects of creativity. First up in our Arts Oasis 55+ series are Dance Fridays – three week sessions led by MASC artists exploring unique and exciting dance forms. In June, get some exercise and build community while exploring basic Bhangra and Bollywood dances with Kuljit Sodhi. In September, explore the fundamentals of Afro-Caribbean dance while learning traditional movements and then integrating them into a short choreography, under the direction of Suzan Richards. And in November, learn Jigging, the traditional dance of the Métis people and a blend of First Nations and settler cultures, with Brad Lafortune.

All Arts Oasis 55+ dance workshops take place Fridays at 3:30 p.m. Regardless of age or ability, start your toes tapping and shimmy your way to one of the following workshop series:

  • June 4, 11, 18 - Bollywood Dance Workshops with Kuljit Sodhi
  • September 10, 17, 24 - Afro-Caribbean Dance Workshops with Suzan Richards
  • November 5, 12, 19 - Atelier de la Gigue métisse with Brad Lafortune (in French only)

We look forward to seeing you there!
