Beaverbrook Farm Stand

08/08/2017

Staff from the Beaverbrook branch were invited to participate at the Beaverbrook Farm Stand on Tuesday evening. The farm stand is part of the Sustain Kanata North project from envirocentre. West Carleton farmers from Heart Beet Farm and Our Farm CSA bring fresh food (locally-grown) each week through September, creating a link between the urban community and local farmers.

Gillian from the Beaverbrook branch was promoting the library's collection and our OPL à la carte project.

Some of the delicious, locally-grown produce available from the local farmers at the stand.

This was a great opportunity for staff to promote our food literacy programs and well as our current OPL à la carte project. Our food literacy project team is looking to collect 150 original recipes (and stories) to create a community cookbook – check out the details here!
