Imagine being an 11 year old Japanese boy who is chosen to live in a Buddhist temple away from his family. Now imagine there is a fire in which the rest of his family perishes. Years pass while the boy grows into a man and a devout Buddhist priest finding solace in his faith and solitude in the countryside of Japan. Then he is chosen to oversee the construction of a temple in New York City, a place where he finds the people rude and the city loud and overwhelming. Join Reverend Oda on this journey to enlightenment where none seems possible.
