Christmas in July – New items are here!

shelf of new books

Jul 07, 2020

Itiswonderful to see all the shinynew library itemscoming inand doubly excitingnow that holds can beplaced on them.Weare hard at work getting everythingintothe systemmagazines, DVDs, books for all ages (including beautiful picture books!) and tastes(the most gorgeous cookbooks you can imagine), video gamesto mention only a few of the hundreds of new items added to the OPL collection.

I don’t know about you, but I have been waiting to request a few titles, especially one by an author I follow who is finally releasing new books after a six-yearhiatus. The books are still not released from the publisher yet,but my name isnowon the list!

To find out what titles we have ordered, you can click on “Browseon the homepage menu, then “New Titles” in the Explore columnonthe left. There, you can pick new reads from the covers featured onscreen orscroll down for more precision in what youwouldlike to read. So,you can pick one of the freshest Teen novels, browse the Non-Fiction offerings, and then see what new picture books have been added to the collection. Most Fictionin Adult, Teen and Childrenas well as Non-Fiction in the Adult category have been subdivided into “Just Arrived” and “On Order”. If youare looking for new books the Library hasright now, “Just Arrived” is the section youwant to browseas “On Order” is for future releasesSince everyone is currently limited to 20 holds (in order to manage the flow now that there is no browsing the physical shelves) anythingyou request that ison orderwill take up a spot, so keep this in mind. You can alwayskeep track offuture releases on your “For Later Shelf” andactivate the hold at a time when you are ready.

New books – it's like Christmas in July,or an un-birthdaybut much, much better!!
