Delilah Dirk: International Mistress of Swordsmanship (and Your New Hero)

09/06/2016

You may recently have seen the news (trending, of course), that Disney is interested in making a live-action movie franchise based on “Delilah Dirk”.

So... Who is Delilah Dirk?

Delilah Dirk is the cunning, dashing, adventurous, devil-may-care, law-evading (on her better days!) protagonist of the graphic novels by Tony Cliff.

As the publisher describes: "Lovable ne'er-do-well Delilah Dirk is an Indiana Jones for the 19th century."

These graphic novels are fast-paced, funny, and a total delight for fans of the adventure genre - a perfect match if you love classic Indiana Jones, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, the recent "Sherlock Holmes" films starring Robert Downey Jr., or the BBC television series "The Musketeers". The art is fresh and colourful, and perfectly complements the repartee (both of sword and of wit!).

Meet the International Mistress of Swordsmanship and her unexpected tea-loving companion, Selim, in the first volume: "Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant". The second volume, "Delilah Dirk and the King’s Shilling", is hot off the presses and now available in the OPL collection.

And if you need just a little bit more to tide you over, the author and publisher have made a short story available through his website. "Delilah Dirk and the Seeds of Good Fortune" is a pay-what-you-can downloadable eBook. Visit the official Delilah Dirk website here for more details.

Happy swashbuckling!
