Regular hours resumed Sept. 7, 2021

Ottawa Public Library has returned to regular pre-pandemic hours at most branches as of September 7, 2021 — including Sunday hours at 10 branches and InfoService. Hours are posted at branch entrances and on the Hours and location page of the OPL website.   

 

Carp Branch

18/10/2021

Carp branch will be closed on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 for operational use by the City of Ottawa. Regular service will resume Wednesday,  October 27, 2021 at 10 am. 

Overdrive: Issues with older Apple devices or browsers

Recent changes by Overdrive and Libby have impacted compatibility with older versions of Apple's mobile and desktop operating systems. Those who use older Apple devices (Mac computers running lower than macOS 10.12.1 and iPhones/iPads running iOS 9) may have trouble using the OverDrive desktop or mobile apps, while Libby is no longer supported on iPhones and iPads running iOS 9.

Alta Vista branch: Reopening October 22

Alta Vista branch will return to regular service and hours on Friday, October 22, 2021.

Entertain yourself with the best online content!

The practice of social distancing is extremely important in our current circumstances. To help you keep entertained while you stay at home, Ottawa Public Library has been posting daily ideas of online content to help you make the most of your time at home. 

 

Here's a list of our top 5 live events for this week.

  1. Join Manali, Spiritual Wellness Coach/ Founder of Zen for You as she leads you through a 30 minute journaling exercise that will empower you and help you on your journey of manifestations and putting pen to paper. Every Sunday at 1 PM.

  2. The Ottawa Tool Library are running weekly Facebook live sessions where you can ask all your questions regarding your home reno or DIY project. Join us on Facebook every Saturday at 11 a.m. There will be weekly themes which will be announced on our social media channels. On April 18th it will be gardening. They are also offering a tutorial on how to make your own face mask Wednesday April 15th at 7 PM.

  3. Craft and hangout on zoom: Zoom and Craft or just to Chat! Every Thursday at 11:00 a.m.Bring your craft!

  4. During this 90 minute virtual workshop, Cup of Intention will take you step-by-step through the candle making process while we create Teacup Candle and 8 Tealights infused with tea and dried flowers.  

  5. Attend an Ottawa-specific virtual genealogy workshop! Drop in to share research strategies, & discover what resources are available for your research. Volunteers from The Ontario Genealogical Society will be here to answer questions & help you get the most from on-line resources.
