UPDATE: Additional Services at OPL Branches – Starting Mar. 8

Starting Monday, March 8:

  • 28 of our 31 open branches will offer returns and holds pick up inside the branches, as well as browsing, and use of public computers.
  • Rosemount, Orléans, and Metcalfe branches will offer contactless returns and holds pick up inside the branches.
  • The Bookmobile will offer browsing of a small collection at all stops.
  • Hours of operation will remain the same.
  • Mask wearing inside the branches, and outside in line, remain mandatory.

Entertain yourself with the best online content - week of August 17

As we’re all practicing physical distancing, Ottawa Public Library has been posting daily ideas of online content to help you make the most of your time at home.  

  

Here's a list of our top 5 live events this week. 

  

  1. Listen to a night of live writing in music at the Riverbed live writing competition on August 19 at 7:30 PM.  

  1. On August 18 at 4:30 PM, join a talk by Scaachi Koul, a writer at BuzzFeed, and the author of the hilarious book of essays One Day We'll All Be Dead and None of This Will Matter. With bylines at The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Globe and Mail, Jezebel, and more, Scaachi's work often deals with race, relationships, and pop-culture. 

  1. On August 19 at 7 PM, attend the ephemera reading series for an hour of readings on the theme of journeys.  

  1. Listen to a talk about Emma Donoghue’s newest book, The Pull of the Stars, on Tuesay August 18 at 7 PM.  

  1. Learn how to write a great resume during this webinar on August 17 at 6 PM.
