Entertain yourself with the best online content - week of July 6th

06/07/2020

As we’re all practicing physical distancing, Ottawa Public Library has been posting daily ideas of online content to help you make the most of your time at home.

Here's a list of our top 5 live events this week.

  1. Learn how to paint a beautiful sunset during a free virtual paint nite, on July 7 at 7 PM!

  1. On Tuesday July 7th at 12 PM, join Michael Mirolla and The League of Canadian Poets for a special live stream reading on the subject of quarantine and writing. Michael Mirolla is an award-winning novelist, short story writer, playwright, and poet. Michael describes his fiction as a mix of magic realism, surrealism, speculative fiction and meta-fiction.

  1. Get inspired, rejuvenated, and motivated by TOM Storytelling Hour’s storytellers! July 12 at 4 PM.

  1. Get relaxed, reset and balanced in a free meditation workshop happening on July 9 at 7 PM.

  1.  Need a mood booster? Want to meet some people? Need some silly fun? On July 7 at 7 PM, The Improv Embassy is hosting a workshop for you! It's a fun, supportive (online!) environment where we'll play some games and have some laughs.
Never tried improv before? No worries! Improv is a type of theatre where nothing is written down, and everything is made up on the spot. It's a lot easier than it sounds and we always have a good time :) Plus, improv can help everyone and anyone get better at public speaking, get you out of your comfort zone and kick-start your creativity.
