Hello,

I am unable to access Lynda.com. I'm receiving below error on the Lynda.com when trying to login using OPL credentials:

Permission denied
Your authentication was successful. However, you do not have access to this resource. If you believe you have arrived on this page in error, please contact your organization or school's IT or help desk for further assistance.

I had the same issue a long time ago, and I found out that the link provided by OPL works fine. If you login directly on lynda.com website, the library card number doesn't work, so you have to use this link:

https://www.lynda.com/portal/sip?org=ottawa.ca

I hope this helps.

i get the same error as the user previous. even usin that link.

It took some time to figure out, but you can install Lynda.com app on your phone, then in order to login go to the tab that says 'Organization', then under "Web Portal" access, type in 'ottawa.ca' and submit. This will take you to the login page that works for OPL.

Enter your library card number and PIN, this will register the app with Lynda.com and then you are back to the app and good to go :)

I hope this helps

That didn't work for me. After I enter the library card number and PIN and go back to the app, I get a message that says: "Your organization has not authorized you to access Lynda.com. Contact your administrator."

Hello, The Lynda.com app does not appear to work with the library's institutional subscription to Lynda.com. Just use a web browser to access this resource.

Hello!
I have the Lynda.com app on one Android phone but I can't remember how I logged in through the Ottawa Public Library portal. I think a librarian at St. Laurent branch helped me to set it up.

I know that the following works:

a) Login to Ottawa Public Library using my library card number and PIN.
b) Login to https://www.lynda.com/portal/sip?org=ottawa.ca&triedlogout=true using my library card number and PIN
c) Android app on Pixel 3 (but I have been logged in for a long time, so I won't want to try to logout and log back in)

Now, I am trying to set it up on another phone, a Nexus 5 (which has worked previously) but I can't seem to make it work anymore.
I have tried the following:

1. Choose 'Organization' tab, enter https://www.lynda.com/portal/sip?org=ottawa.ca&triedlogout=true in the Portal field
I get the error: "No portal found matching your domain"

2. Choose 'Organization' tab, enter https://www.lynda.com/portal/sip?org=ottawa.ca in the Portal field
I get the error: "No portal found matching your domain"

3. Choose 'Organization' tab, enter https://ottawa.ca in the Portal field
I get the error: "No portal found matching your domain"

4. Choose 'Organization' tab, enter ottawa.ca in the Portal field
I get the error: "No portal found matching your domain"

5. Choose 'Organization' tab, enter ottawa in the Portal field
I get the error: "No portal found matching your domain"

6. Choose 'Organization' tab, and under Organization Login
Username: I enter my library card number
Password: I enter my library PIN
I get the error: "Could not load data. Please check your network connection"
I click on "Forgot login?" and enter my email which is associated with my Lynda.com account from (b) above, but I still get the same error: "Could not load data. Please check your network connection"

7. Choose 'Individual' tab:
Username: I enter my library card number
Password: I enter my library PIN
I get the error: "Could not load data. Please check your network connection"

8. If I click on 'Not sure how to login?', I get a paragraph with a sentence that reads: "You may need to be onsite to log in."
Does this mean we have to be inside the library and connected to the OPL WiFi network in order to login?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
