Fresh Hydroponic Greens for the Stittsville Food Bank

The Ottawa Public Library has partnered with the Parkdale Food Centre and their Growing Futures Project. The Stittsville Branch is the happy home of a hydroponic grow tower that is currently producing several varieties of lettuce, and some basil, cilantro and parsley. Staff at the branch have started the seeds, tend to the plants, and maintain the tower. When it's harvest time, the Stittsville Food Bank receives the bounty of fresh greens!

If you'd like to help out, please speak to a staff person at the Stittsville Branch. This is an amazing opportunity for a community group, some young 'biologists', or interested seniors.
