Step 1: Contactless services inside most open branches

There are contactless services inside most of our 31 open branches, with capacity limits in place, as of June 14, 2021, except at Metcalfe Village, Orléans and Rosemount. This means:

  • Holds can be picked up on shelves and checked out at self-checkout stations.
  • Borrowed items can be returned via book drops anytime.
  • Access to PCs, Chromebooks, and printing, where these are available.
  • Hours of operation remain the same, except at Osgoode.
  • Mask-wearing remains mandatory inside, and outside in line.

Garden this fall with OPL!

The joy and work of gardening is neverending. The wondrous turning of the seasons brings on new beauty but also new tasks, new approaches to try, and more rewards to harvest. Gardening requires a mix of labour, love, and learning and Ottawa Public Library is here to keep your garden passion growing.

To conclude our series on gardening, OPL is offering three programs in September to help you with your fall gardening. In these programs, you can learn how to save seeds, preserve your harvest, get your garden ready for winter, and more!

  • Learn how to collect, save, and store seeds with Seed Saving and Storage with Rebecca Last on Wednesday, September 2 at 12 noon.
  • Learn different techniques to preserve your harvest with Preserving the Harvest with Rebecca Last on Wednesday, September 9 at 12 noon.
