Continuing with our series on gardening, Ottawa Public Library is offering three programs in August on how to encourage beneficial insects, such as pollinators, and how to provide shelter and habitat for animals in your garden. One of the joys of gardening is seeing wildlife living in the green space you created. And it can be so beautiful!
- Learn how to create a wildlife-friendly garden with Gardening with Wildlife with Rebecca Last on Wednesday, August 12 at 12 noon.
- Join Ron St. Louis of Capital Bees to learn the essential facts about bees, beekeeping and harvesting honey with Beekeeping Basics on Wednesday, August 19 at 12 noon.
- Kira Burger will present Pollinator-friendly Gardens on Wednesday, August 26 at 12 noon, where you can learn about native and non-native pollinators, as well as garden design, plant selection, and garden maintenance practices to attract and support them.
