2019 is underway and so are genealogy and local history programs at OPL!  Our programs are of course fun and informative, but even better this time of year, they’re all indoors!  So come in from the cold and join us to build your genealogy skills or learn about local history. 

Genealogy Drop-In Club

Drop in to work on your family tree! An OPL genealogy specialist and an Ontario Genealogical Society representative will be here to answer questions.

Genealogy Research Lab

Need help tracing your ancestry?  Just getting started in genealogy?  Hit a research brick wall?  Join a genealogy librarian in the Computer Lab for a hands-on research session to work on your family tree.

Great Canal Journeys featuring the Rideau Canal: special screening

The Historical Society of Ottawa presents a special screening of the Rideau Canal episode of the spectacular British TV series Great Canal Journeys.  Actors Prunella Scales and Timothy West journey up the Canal from Kingston to Ottawa.  By permission of Channel 4.
