Giving us the bird with Iris Folding


The Manotick Branch Library hosted another in a series of art programs taught by Alison, the branch's Supervisor.  Always popular, the craft in this case is "Iris Folding", a method of laying down coloured and/or patterned strips of paper over a cut-out opening resembling the 'iris' of a camera.  This session's pattern was in the form of a small bird.  Two examples are shown below:

The card design was intended as a holiday greeting card.  The participants used different types of patterns, so no two were exactly alike.

It is likely that another program will be offered in 2019.  Stay tuned!
