Notice: St-Laurent Branch

14/06/2021

The St-Laurent branch is closed due to a power outage. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Step 1: Contactless services inside most open branches

14/06/2021

There are contactless services inside most of our 31 open branches, with capacity limits in place, as of June 14, 2021, except at Metcalfe Village, Orléans and Rosemount. This means:

  • Holds can be picked up on shelves and checked out at self-checkout stations.
  • Borrowed items can be returned via book drops anytime.
  • Access to PCs, Chromebooks, and printing, where these are available.
  • Hours of operation remain the same, except at Osgoode.
  • Mask-wearing remains mandatory inside, and outside in line.

For details, go to Current Branch Services.

The Golden Tickets are back for Library Month

This image shows OPL's Golden Ticket and the fanny pack.
01/10/2019

Hey Ottawa! October is Library Month and the Golden Tickets are back!

This month, we invite you to discover all that your Ottawa Public Library has to offer. You can borrow Express eBooks and musical instruments: you can stream classic movies or learn a new language online; you can read full-text daily newspapers and borrow the latest video games. We have it all and everything in between – for you, for everyone, for free.

Since it’s Library Month, we are making OPL even more fun than usual by hiding and giving away Golden Tickets in all of our branches and across the city!

So visit the branch nearest to you and keep your eyes peeled. Every Golden Ticket is redeemable for a beautiful, locally handmade fanny pack by EcoEquitable!

Follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for clues and more!

We hope to see you in our branches and around the city throughout October – Library Month!
