It is cold outside, so why not come inside and learn about local history during Heritage Month at Ottawa Public Library?

This February, we are celebrating the fascinating heritage of our area: from Franco-Ontarian history and lore to tales from Ottawa’s past, you are sure to be enthralled, and appreciate your city more than ever.

Bytown Tales

Stories of colourful characters and events from Ottawa's somewhat checkered history!  Colette Laplante of Ottawa Storytellers will regale you with tales both thrilling and humorous. 

This is a family program, suitable for kids ages seven and up.

 

Stories and Legends from Canada’s Capital

Celebrate Heritage Month with tales from Ottawa’s past!  Whether it is Battling Bytown, The Flying Canoe, Sir Galahad or the Great Fires; Colette Laplante of Ottawa Storytellers will tell you tales to intrigue and thrill. 

This program is for adults.

 

Great Canal Journeys: Rideau Canal

The Historical Society of Ottawa presents a special screening of the spectacular Rideau Canal episode of the British Channel 4 series Great Canal Journeys.
