“Imagine a gender equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Together we can forge women's equality.

Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.” - (International’s Women Day 2022 website)

It is chilling to read The World Economic Forum announcing that none of us will see gender parity during our lifetime. Furthermore, it will most likely not be attained for almost a century, leaving future generations still fighting against discrimination.

How can we, today and right now, play a part in changing society’s perception and biases regarding gender roles? By starting to reflect if within our own communities, workplaces and other shared public places, barriers against women are in place.

To inspires action, OPL has booklists that share ideas and breakthroughs that allowed, or encourage, the removal of barriers women have been facing for far too long. From non-fiction books about new paths  in domains such as medicine, technology or sports, to novels that display women in unconventional roles, you will find something interesting to read.

Check out our lists (links below) aimed at a younger audience, children and teens, to open a family discussion about gender inequalities and how to eliminate the misconceptions based on stereotypes against girls and women.
