OPEN BRANCHES: 22 of our branches and the Bookmobile are currently open for modified services at this time.

Additional branches will reopen for contactless returns and holds pickup in the fall and early winter. Details:

BOOKMOBILE: for the current Bookmobile stops schedule.

MANDATORY: Masks are required to be worn inside Ottawa Public Library branches, as per theTemporary Mandatory Mask By-law. Customers who are not wearing masks will not be allowed inside branches. Exceptions apply for people with medical exemptions.

Lights, camera, action! The Teen Tech Week Video Contest’s deadline is 1 week away.


Our video contest’s deadline is approaching. If you are between the ages of 13 to 18, you can enter by creating a one-minute video about your favourite book. The video can be a book trailer, a parody, a review, a dramatization of a compelling scene, or anything related to your book of choice. All of the contest details are here.

Contest submissions will be accepted until (and including) Monday, April 6th.

Reasons to enter the contest:

  • The grand prize winner will be awarded an Apple iPad and a prize pack from contest partner, SAW Video.
  • Each submission will automatically be entered into a wild card draw.
  • The top 10 finalists will be announced, and their videos screened on the silver screen, at an Awards Night & Video Screening on Thursday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Centrepointe Studio Theatre, 101 Centrepointe Drive. This event is free and open to everyone.
