Manotick Artist of the Month for December: "Winter Play" with Anne Robinson

Anne Robinson exhibiting at the Manotick Branch Library

This December, the Manotick Branch Library is hosting an exhibit from Anne Robinson, a long-time resident of Manotick and member of the Manotick Art Association.

In her exhibit, "Winter Play" her oil and acrylic paintings not only evoke the spirit of winter, but she has included examples created by her two grandchildren, Amira and Thea Robinson who are already showing signs of following on her footsteps.

Anne herself has shown signs of her artistic talent at an early age.  Born in the Ottawa Valley, she began painting in her teen years, but more intensively in the last decade.  Anne has taken courses at various art centres in the area and has joined the Manotick Art Association in 2015, helping out as Program Coodinator.  She says, in her words, that she "finds delight in looking and sometimes finding, the just-right, creative or crazy-but-totally-works painting solution."

Her primary medium of choice is oil painting but she is increasingly using acrylics in her work.
