March Break

12/03/2018

Hey there!

March break is here, and the Ottawa Public Library has plenty of teen programs which will be running over the course of the week.  This year, the library has a theme of adulting 101. The OPL is offering a series of programs where you can learn things from cooking to budgeting to sushi-making, all in a condensed format. Fun, but also useful – isn’t that the best combo?

The workshops are short, ranging from one to two hours in length, and sound like loads of fun. In particular, the workshop on resume building and job searching interests me – as much as we learn (or don’t learn) in careers class, figuring out how to present ourselves to prospective employers can be... daunting. Terrifying even.  I don’t even know where to start, personally.

So I urge you all to take a look at these. You won’t regret it, I promise. Prepare for a week of fun meeting other teens and learning valuable skills!

Ottawa Public Library’s Teen Bloggers in Residence are fantastic teen volunteer writers from across the city. They blog about their favourite teen reads and authors, and get writing assignments to cover special teen events happening at the library. Their residency rotates throughout the year. Call-outs for upcoming terms are made through the Teen Blog.
