We have plenty of programs for kids this March Break but not all of our programs are for your little brothers and sisters. There are March Break activities for you guys and gals in high school too. From hobbies & crafts, job workshops, poetry to video workshops, all of our programs are free.

Table Top Games and Ping Pong

Hang out, relax, and have some fun this March Break. We'll be playing board games, mini ping pong, and cards.

Youth Poetry Slam

Are you wondering what slam poetry is? Do you write your own poems? Come to the Library and share your work. The Ottawa Youth Poetry Slam is bringing poetry to you! The event will feature some of the best spoken word artists in the country!

This workshop will walk you through stages of the interview process, styles of interviews, how to handle interview questions, and mock interview practice in a group setting.

Take apart common household appliances to see their inner workings and learn how they were put together.

Insurgent Movie Release Party

Wednesday, March 18th  - 4:00pm
Come celebrate the release of Insurgent, the second movie based on Veronica Roth's Divergent series. Participants will make buttons to wear to the movie, play trivia games, and create their own Divergent inspired temporary tattoo

Introductory Workshop: How to Edit Video *FEATURED PROGRAM*

In conjunction with OPL’s Teen Tech Week Video Contest, a SAW Video instructor will introduce how to edit video in the Library’s new Makerspace, the Imagine Space. This beginner’s 90-minute workshop will focus on learning to use iMovie for MAC.

Wear your favourite ‘80s fashions, watch the top 1980's movie clips (according to Carlingwood's Teen Advisory Group), design a small etsy-style button with our button maker, snack on pizza and drink hot chocolate.
