Join us on World Alzheimer's Day - Saturday, September 21st - from 10 am to noon for Memory Caféour first open house for persons with dementia, their care partners, and families! Please wear blue to help raise awareness!

The Stittsville Branch of the Ottawa Public Library is a dementia friendly community space! We would like to ensure that we are offering programs that provide enriching social experiences for persons with dementia, their care partners, and families.

To that end, we will host regular Memory Cafés on the first Thursday afternoon of each month from 1 pm to 3 pm.

We will offer light snacks and warm drinks, along with some items that may spark memories and conversations. Themes could include Hollywood Stars, Music of the 50's, animals, Around the House (ex. a rotary phone, a wash board, Norman Rockwell prints, etc.), Classic Literature and Popular Books for Children (ex. Little Golden Books), Scrapbooking and other crafts, etc.

The atmosphere will be informal, relaxed, and friendly, and everyone is welcome to attend!
