MANDATORY: Masks are required to be worn inside Ottawa Public Library branches, as per theTemporary Mandatory Mask By-law. Customers who are not wearing masks will not be allowed inside branches. Exceptions apply for people with medical exemptions.

National Aboriginal History Month/Mois national de l'histoire autochtone


June is National Aboriginal History Month and it is an opportunity to honour the heritage, contributions and cultures of Aboriginal peoples in Canada.

Each year, the Ottawa Public Library celebrates First Nation, Inuit and Métis communities in Ottawa with a series of programs for National Aboriginal History Month. Families are invited to learn about the richness of First Nation, Inuit and Métis culture through interactive programming offered by local artists. All of the events are free and will take place in branches across the city in May and June. Find out more about the programs and register online.

En juin, les Canadiens célèbrent le mois national de l'histoire autochtone. Il s'agit d'une occasion de souligner le patrimoine, les contributions et la culture des peuples autochtones du Canada.

À chaque année, la Bibliothèque Publique d’Ottawa fête les communautés des Premières Nations, Métis et Inuit avec une série de programme. Tout le monde est invité à venir apprendre sur la culture des autochtones avec des programmes interactifs offerts gratuitement par des artistes de la région.
