OMIC Capital Music Awards -- Your chance to vote for Local Music!

In March 2020 OMIC (Ottawa Music Industry Coalition) will be celebrating the talent that thrives in the region with a new awards ceremony.

The Capital Music Awards will recognize artists and members of the community who contribute to Ottawa's diverse local music scene.

These awards will showcase some of the best the region has to offer.  N.B. the nominees for this award are chosen by the public!  See the categories and links below from OMIC to participate and check back to the OPL or OMIC websites for the winners in March.  In the meantime, request or borrow some of the nominee’s CDs available from the OPL.

The call for nominations is open until February 14th, 2020. Are you involved in the local music industry? Are you an artist, venue owner, festival organizer, or a music fan? Then this is for you.

There are six categories. All OMIC members in good standing are eligible to submit nominations for the following awards:

  1. Song of the Year

  2. Solo/Duo of the Year

  3. Band of the Year

  4. Video of the Year

Members of the public are invited to submit nominations for the following awards:

  1. Impact Award

  2. Entertainer of the Year

Nominations can be made here, and the definitions for the prizes and nominations can be found here.

The National Capital Region is teeming with talent. It’s time to energize our city with the power of music!
