UPDATE: Additional Services at OPL Branches – Starting Mar. 8


Starting Monday, March 8:

  • 28 of our 31 open branches will offer returns and holds pick up inside the branches, as well as browsing, and use of public computers.
  • Rosemount, Orléans, and Metcalfe branches will offer contactless returns and holds pick up inside the branches.
  • The Bookmobile will offer browsing of a small collection at all stops.
  • Hours of operation will remain the same.
  • Mask wearing inside the branches, and outside in line, remain mandatory.

RBdigital Magazines Transition to OverDrive

As you know, OverDrive had acquired RBdigital last year. As a result, our Library’s RBdigital Unlimited Magazines (Zinio) service from RBdigital will be transferred to the OverDrive platform Libby on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

Starting that morning (around 8:00AM ET), all titles from the RBdigital Unlimited Magazines package will be gradually migrating to our OverDrive platform Libby. This process may take a few hours and once complete, it could take up to 24 hours for all titles to fully populate. After the transfer to OverDrive, the ZINIO magazine titles will also continue to be available in the RBdigital app until March 31, 2021. 

A package of over 3,000 popular titles with varieties of languages and up to three years of back issues will be available for unlimited simultaneous access with no circulation caps, except The Economist

Will the Zinio app continue to work for reading issues

While I checked out magazines using RBDigital, I found that the reading experience was a lot better using Zinio. Will that continue to be possible?

Thank you for your patience - I have now heard from the vendor. Unfortunately, customers will not be able to see content borrowed from OverDrive on the Zinio app. I do find that the experience using the mobile app Libby is very good - I hope you find the the transition smooth.
