Reel Youth Film Festival Comes to Ottawa!


Do you love films? Do you love celebrating young talent? We do too!
Ottawa Public Library is happy to present the Reel Youth Film Festival, happening on Friday April 26, at the Studio Theatre of the Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, at 7 pm. Everyone is welcome to this free movie screening featuring young filmmakers under 20 years old!

The Festival is presented in partnership with Reel Youth. Reel Youth offers media empowerment opportunities for young artists under 20 through technical programs and workshops. Reel Youth Film Festival will be a bilingual custom-made amalgamation of short films created by young people from around the world, with curated content from Ottawa-Gatineau filmmakers! The Festival screening highlights the richness and the variety of talent from the next generation of filmmakers and is sure to spark new cinematic ideas for young people in our city.

Evening Details:

When: Friday, April 26th at 7:00 p.m.

Where: Studio Theatre of Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, 101 Centrepointe

Who: YOU!

This event is for young people and those who are young-at-heart! Invite your family and friends! 

What: A 80-minute film screening of short-films created by youth from around the world and locally. The evening will include a 30-minute intermission promising fun activities, trivia and popcorn and drinks! OPL’s Imagine Space will be on hand to showcase the resources and technology they have available for young filmmakers!

Youth Ottawa and their social enterprise Hot Shoe Productions, will also be part of the scene to talk about what they have to offer for young artists.
