Who doesn’t want a pet rock? Make a rock buddy that will patiently listen to all your stories this summer. Here I have made some cactus and some crab buddies, but you can make monster buddies or any other buddy you can think of, just by painting your rock, adding some googly eyes and maybe a few small details.
Materials:
- Craft paint
- Paint Brush
- Mini terra cotta flowerpots
- Googly Eyes
- Craft paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Fine black marker
Instructions for cactus buddy:
- Paint your rock green and let dry, acrylic paint works well
- Use your paintbrush to make little lines, dots or Xs to look like cactus spines
- Glue on googly eyes with either white school glue or hot glue
- Put your cactus buddy in a mini terra cotta flowerpot filled with sand or small rocks
Instructions for crab buddy:
- Paint your rock red, acrylic paint works well
- With some red construction paper, cut out a small circle with four legs coming out on each side and two pinchers up front
- Glue this outline to the bottom of your rock
- Glue on googly eyes with either white school glue or hot glue
- Add on a small mouth with a fine black marker
