Searching for family? Try FamilySearch!

FamilySearch, the website of the LDS Family History Library, is the largest online collection of genealogical records anywhere. It offers you billions of digital images and indexes of records from around the world.  Beyond the records, there are ebooks - over 200,000 digitized genealogy and family history publications.  And if you still haven't found everything you need, search the Catalog for even more materials in print or microform that can be borrowed through Family History Center here in Ottawa.  For guidance, the Family History Research Wiki contains thousands of how-to articles.  The wiki is the place to go to find what records are available and how to research just about any geographic location in the world.

And now the best part - it's all free!  Is this a resource you can afford to miss?  We don't think so.  Join us at Stittsville Branch on April 5 as Shirley Ann Pyefinch, director of Ottawa's Family History Center, introduces us to the many resources of FamilySearch.

I would like to register but unable to be there on the 5th of April. When is the next date?

Hi Roberta,
I’m sorry that you won’t be able to join us on April 5. We offer a program on FamilySearch in partnership with the Ottawa Stake Family History Center about once a year; the date for the next one has not yet been determined. Meanwhile, you can find our other genealogy programs listed here:
