Fox puppet with red bows

It has been a busy month full of activities at the Richmond Branch!

The "LEGO Block Party" group built catapults for their last meeting.  Once everyone had a working model, the kids excitedly competed to see which one could shoot the furthest!  The catapults weren’t just colourful, they shot marshmallows half way across the library!   Mission accomplished!

The last session of the fall "Adult Art Program" was also in December.    It was fun, and challenging to thread the beads together in a pattern to create, tree zipper pulls.  Crafters were happy to help each other out, and new crafters were thrilled with their creations!

Everyone is looking forward to more crafting next year!

We wrapped up 2017 today with "Noon Years Eve" crafts for everyone!  Kids and their parents happily coloured, cut, and glued things together.  They made noise makers and hats to celebrate the coming New Year, 2018!

We look forward to new fun activities with our community during the upcoming year, as we celebrate Richmond turning 200!

Stop by the branch and fill out a ballot for our “Name the Fox” contest this January.  Kids can choose one of five names for our fox puppet.  The names represent real people.  Each of the five people made an interesting contribution to the village of Richmond.

Thanks to everyone for a fun year at the Richmond Branch
Happy New Year!!
