These Are A Few of My Favorite Things - Children's Books

Snowflakes on noses and whiskers on kittens
Bright coloured books and warm woolen mittens
Reading my mountain of books in full swing
These are a few of my favorite things!!!

How many of our best books of the year did you read in 2015?

2015 was a great year for picture books. We saw a lot of shining stars, such as the Caldecott Medal Winner Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear and Sidewalk Flowers winner of the 2015 Governor General’s Award for Illustrated Children’s Literature. Both of them are full of friendship, love, and kindness. They’re sure to warm the hearts of readers.

Among many of the new animal picture books, there are two about somewhat nasty creatures, such as  Astrid the Fly, and Bug in A Vacuum that really stand out. They are narrated from the perspective of the fly and the bug. After following their adventures, I’m sure you’ll have a bit more sympathy for these somewhat disgusting creatures, and perhaps you’ll even start to like them.

The majority of the picture books are about kids everyday life situations.  The Wonder is one of many. This book truthfully captures the incredible world of an inattentive, day dreaming young boy and his wondering and imagination.I extremely like the back note “To mom for believing in my daydreams”

For older kids, these was something for every reader in children's fiction in 2015. From animal fantasies to wonderful family read-alounds to exciting survival stories, here are a few of the best Children's books suggested by Laura and Feng:
