Regular hours resume on September 7 2021


Ottawa Public Library will return to regular pre-pandemic hours at most branches starting Tuesday, September 7, 2021 — including Sunday hours at 10 branches and InfoService as of Sunday, September 12.  

Hours are posted at branch entrances and on the Hours and location page of the OPL website.   

Fitzroy Harbour and Vernon branches are reopening after being closed since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

The elevator at the Carlingwood branch is currently unavailable.

Rideau branch-Elevator out of service


The elevator at Rideau is currently out of service for maintenance and repairs. Service will be restored on Monday, September 27th.

Vote! Radio-Canada's Combat national des livres is launched!

Until May 7, all French book lovers are invited to vote for their favorite book among the five nominated titles. Like every year, each book will be defended by a contestant. The debates will be broadcast on Radio-Canada's program: Plus on est de fous, plus on lit from May 3 to 7. 

Members of the public who participate in the vote have a chance to win an eReader, books (worth $2000), and to top off these amazing prizes: personalized reading recommendations from a bookseller for 12 months. Visit the website to vote!
