We're celebrating International Literacy Day!

08/09/2015

The theme of UNCESCO's International Literacy Day this year is Literacy and Sustainable Societies. Celebrations are taking place all around the word, including Algeria, Cambodia, Germany, and Mozambique. A brochure including prizewinners, literacy information and a message from the Director-General of UNESCO can be found at this website: http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0023/002342/234233e.pdf.

OPL supports literacy in many ways, including English and French conversation groups, homework help for adults and children, and through partnerships with local literacy organizations, including Frontier CollegePeople, Words, and Change, and more. View a list of selected resources from the OPL collection and beyond!

Don’t hesitate to contact our InfoService team at 613-580-2940 or by email at InfoService@BiblioOttawaLibrary.ca for additional information.
