Elevator replacement

  • The elevator will be out-of-service starting October 20 until late-December.
  • The elevator is being replaced as part of the City of Ottawa’s building assets lifecycle renewal and replacement program.
  • In order to better serve customers, a self-checkout station has been temporarily installed on the lower level, and holds have been moved there as well.
  • Employees will be happy to retrieve Library material for customers who cannot use the stairs to access the upper level, and offer any other assistance within their means.

Nearby construction

  • Construction is taking place at the south west corner of Wellington Street and Rosemount Avenue, adjacent to the branch
  • There are obstructions on the sidewalk and in parking spots on the road that may make it difficult to access the library branch at times
  • In order to ensure the safety of those walking along Rosemount Avenue, it is recommended to use the walkway on the East side of Rosemount while work is ongoing to maintain as much distance from the work as possible
  • The closest fully accessible branches are Carlingwood, Main and Sunnyside
