Photo from book Our Heroes in the Great World War

A remarkable publication from 1919 that gives us photographs and brief service details for over a thousand Ottawa-area Officers, Nurses, NCOs, and men who enlisted in World War I – “the Great World War”.  It’s also a vivid contemporary account of Canada’s role in the war, and provides Nominal Rolls of the 38th, 22nd, 77th, 207th, and 230th Battalions from this region.

Our Heroes in the Great World War: Giving Facts and Details of Canada’s Part in the Greatest War in History, compiled by J.H. de Wolfe.  Ottawa: Patriotic Pub. Co., 1919.
