e-reader give away

can I participate if I don't have a twitter or facebook account?

We're hosting this contest on our social media platforms therefore you would need either a Twitter or Facebook account to participate.

So, No Twitter or Facebook?

No entry into the contest? Thanks for thinking of the poverty stricken in your community. Some of us also prefer to have private lives but would relish an opportunity to win an e-reader. Oh, what book would I read first? "The Body Economic" by Suckler, David would of course be the first one. An insightful view demonstrating how economic austerity literally kills the weakest and poorest citizens in countries where these policies are instituted.

Again, thanks a whole huge thoughtful bunch.

Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for your feedback. The Ottawa Public Library often holds contests for our customers. You raise a valid point regarding social media activity, and we will be reviewing our contests and exploring different participation options to ensure that we can provide customers with equitable access and participation. Please keep an eye out for future contests with different methods of participation. In the meantime, we invite customers to visit any of our 33 physical branches to access social media platforms using our public computers and free WiFi access.

So, No Twitter or Facebook?

Well I'm really disappointed here that the management team at the library would make such contest. I also choose to keep myself away from the social media circus as such I don't have a twitter nor a Facebook account.

I'm totally crazy for books and constantly using your services so I would of like to have a chance at winning this eBook specially now your eBooks library is getting more and more interesting and I started using it more often now.

Let's just say that this contest it's not open to all...it may achieve the goal to give you more presence in the social media, but this was not for the library users.

Another option could of been to have this contest open to your customers using eBooks or everyone who uses the library services for the month of September...

Do you have a consultation board for these types of decision????

Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback on this matter.

Thank you for sharing your

Thank you for sharing your ideas for making our contests to be more equitable. We have taken your concerns into consideration and we are exploring ways to make participation in our future contests more inclusive.
Given that the contest rules were established and communicated, and that the contest is under way, we cannot make changes to this particular contest at this time. You can certainly expect to see changes in our future contests, which we invite you to participate in.
