23/11/2018

Just in time for holiday parties, potlucks, and family gatherings, Ottawa Public Library has some enticing food literacy programs to inspire you in the kitchen in the coming weeks!

Make your holiday meals easier by saving time and effort…with the Instant Pot! Join us for a live demo and Q&A during our special program: Instant Pot Holiday Edition, with author Daniel Shumski. All three programs will be in English, with a bilingual Q&A to follow. Registration is not required, though seating is limited. Seats will attributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Wondering what to bring to your friend’s holiday potluck? Get things rolling by participating in our Sushi Making program with chef Chris Peters! Bring a friend along for this demonstration, and learn from chef Chris how to make two different types of sushi rolls. All six programs will be in English. Registration is required.

If you are looking for creative DIY gifts to give this season, join us to learn how to make your own Kombucha, with Culture Kombucha workshops. Culture Kombucha will show you how to make your own kombucha at home plus how to bottle and flavour it in multiple ways. Each participant will get their own scoby kit, tea, and sugar (all the basic ingredients to get started). All six programs will be in English. Registration is required.

Comments

Good morning,

Could the library add more dates for the Kombucha Workshop either this December or early 2019?

Sincerely,

Olivia Yama

Hello Olivia!
Thank you for your comment. Please note that there are still spaces available for the kombucha workshop at Richmond branch tomorrow, Dec 4.: https://biblioottawalibrary.ca/en/event/kombucha-workshop-1.
Regarding your question about having more kombucha workshops in the future, there are no immediate plans to add more kombucha workshops, but we will certainly forward your comment to the Program Development department.
