Book Scavenger

Based on the Book Scavenger series written by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman, this program offers 10 to 17 year olds the opportunity to create their own secret language, crack difficult ciphers and be introduced to book geocaching.

Session 1, March 12 at 10:00:  Introduction to the book scavenger series: Participants will be introduced to the book series, and will learn how to create their own secret language.

Session 2, March 13 at 10:00:  Code cracking:  Participants will learn how to cipher and decipher codes.

Session 3, March 14 at 10:00:  Book geocaching: Participants will have the chance to come up with a secret code, describing where their book is hidden. Everyone will hide their books in secret spots around the library and will create a message in code describing where it is. Participants will exchange codes with each other and then set off to find each other's book.
